Dear Mr. Vandouris:

I want to thank Carlson Sheet Metal Works for the fine work they have done at the A. B. Campbell House, Cheney Cowles Museum, Spokane, Washington.

Several years ago, you fabricated and installed the unique historic kitchen range hood in the restored kitchen of this historic house museum. It was an exemplary job which incorporated several improvements in the design as given to you It is an accurate reproduction of the original architect K. K. Cutter designed range hood existing in the Stimson-Green House, Seattle, which is a reversed copy of the Campbell House, and had the same kitchen design and range hood that had existed in the earlier Campbell House. In these days of custom kitchens, I am surprised that you haven't had requests for similar range hoods for new installations.

Both the museum personnel an I were very pleased that you were to be the sheet metal subcontractor for this last year's verandah restoration on the Campbell House. A soldered flat seam sheet metal roof and built-in gutter installation used to be the customary way to do flat roofs and roof decks. It is a system that is well documented in all of the accepted roofing and sheet metal installation manuals, but not a system that is commonly used today. Again, you were very helpful in insuring that this re-roofing and gutter restoration would be done satisfactorily and in accordance with the best roofing practices. The museum is very pleased with the result; and that part of the project went especially well for me, no problems at all.

I heartily recommend that potential clients for your work be shown the examples of your work at the Campbell House. I am glad to offer my recommendation.
